About Us
Bettis Academy (BA) is a proposed* public charter school serving grades K -12. Drawing inspiration from North Carolina’s eldest and most effective charter schools, BA will offer a skillfully designed and unique educational experience that promotes collaborative learning and personal enrichment for every student.
Bettis Academy anticipates an August 2026 opening date, starting with grades K-6.
Additional grade levels will be added yearly, with BA being a K-12 school by 2032.

Our Mission
The mission of Bettis Academy will be to educate underserved students in East Wake County by providing a small
learning community, an innovative and academically rigorous curriculum, and hands-on, real-life experiences.
Our Vision
Bettis Academy will prepare our students to be adaptable, critical thinkers and collaborative citizens within their
communities and the world. They will be able to define post-secondary success for themselves as our school community
helps to cultivate the blueprint they need to achieve it.

Student engagement,
family involvement, community partnerships, and forming a dedicated staff will be focal points as the charter school is
established.
Why Bettis Academy?
From kindergarten to high school graduation, students can maintain connections and receive consistent support during each transition.
Students can obtain transferable college credits, a degree, or certificate at no cost through our community college partnerships.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in clubs and sports at the middle and high School levels.
Our high school seminar courses will prepare students for college, career, and real life.
Bettis Academy is not just
a school. We are a community.
